Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the deck types?

Starter Blitz Decks:

These decks are custom starter blitz deck designed to give new players the best entry point for a specific hero.

Fight Decks:

Fight Decks are a package of 2 starter blitz decks and 2 classic constructed upgrade packs that have been designed to give you and a friend a balanced learning experience! Play a few (dozen) games of blitz to learn how to play, then combine the upgrade pack with the blitz deck to play some classic constructed matches!

Each Fight Deck is aimed at a different scenario, but anyone can enjoy any of the Fight Decks.

  • The Dash vs Dorinthea Fight Deck is for beginners. Both heroes are easy to pilot and is great for two brand new Flesh and Blood players.
  • The Azalea vs Fai Fight Deck is for teaching. It's best when one player has some experience with Flesh and Blood and is teaching a brand new player.
  • The Katsu vs Riptide Fight Deck is for beginners looking for more complexity. It's best for new players who want heroes that are a little more complex to pilot.

Complexity Rating:

The complexity rating of a deck is a rating from 1 to 10 of how difficult it is to pilot the deck as a brand new player to Flesh and Blood. We recommend starting with a few of the easier decks, learning the game, and then trying out the more complex ones later!

The general formula is as follows:
1 = Not much reading necessary
5 = Some explanation needed to understand hero
10 = Need to read an essay before understanding how the deck works

Here is a master list of all the ratings.

Aren't some of these cards banned?

Yes, some of them are! LSS periodically bans cards for competitive play, but my  decks are meant for kitchen table play and were all balanced as much as possible during deck creation.

Why do some cards feel different than others?

Different manufacturers! Originally all Flesh and Blood cards were printed with one manufacturer in Belgium so the quality and feel of each card was consistent. Cards are now also printed in Japan, which feature thicker and darker cards.

What do I do against Kano?

To fight against Kano, you need Arcane Barrier. Sadly, I can't provide every duel deck with a set of these just in case you are fighting him. We suggest flipping over an equipment piece and pretending like it's Nullrune equipment when fighting Kano (or even Viserai).
